He said people were screaming and running in every direction, unsure where the danger was coming from. Others reported hearing what sounded like automatic gunfire echoing across the beach, followed by police sirens and emergency vehicles arriving in large numbers.

Videos circulating on social media appear to show the moment chaos unfolded, with beachgoers scattering as gunshots rang out. One widely shared clip shows a man dressed in a black shirt firing a large weapon before being tackled and disarmed by another man wearing a white T-shirt, an act many are now calling heroic. Another video shows a gunman firing from a pedestrian bridge overlooking the area.

Police later confirmed that officers detained two men on a pedestrian bridge, attempting to resuscitate one of them at the scene. The footage was verified by independent analysis matching multiple angles of the same incident.
